Lebanon, officially known as the Lebanese Republic, is a sovereign state in Western Asia. It is bordered by Syria to the North and east and Israel to the South, while Cyprus is west across the Mediterranean Sea. 
Tyre is an ancient Phoenician City and the legendary birthplace of Europa and Dido (Elissa). Today it is the fourth largest City in Lebanon and houses one of the nations major ports. Tourism is a major industry.

The city of Tyre is still there and has a population of over100,000.
